Gas lights quickly, adjusts faster, and recovers from brief showers or temperature dips better. It still needs ventilation, stability, and sensible placement, but it gives you more control.

Charcoal needs a better window

Charcoal is more sensitive to rain, damp fuel, and gusts. Lighting takes longer, temperature control is slower, and a wet windy start can become a one-person struggle watched by everyone through the kitchen window.

Charcoal in bad weather is not impossible. It is just a hobby inside a hobby.
