About

Why does this exist?

The story behind the app, the weather logic, and the very specific British urge to know whether it is worth getting the barbecue out.

Why Does This Exist?

It started with the same kind of everyday question as the washing app: weather apps show data, but they do not answer the actual thing you are wondering at the back door.

For barbecues, the question is not just "is it raining?" It is whether the garden is dry enough, whether the wind will be annoying, whether heat or chill makes standing outside awkward, and whether there is a useful window before the next shower.

The lovely people from the Overclockers UK forum tested the washing app, asked sharp questions, spotted edge cases, and inspired new ideas. This BBQ version exists because that feedback made it obvious that lots of everyday weather decisions deserve a simple, practical answer.

A Word of Warning

This site uses forecast data and sensible outdoor-comfort rules, but all weather is probabilistic and every garden has its own quirks. Shade, shelter, drainage, patio layout, and barbecue setup all matter.

Use it as a guide, not gospel. If the score looks good but your chairs are wet or the wind is whipping smoke around, trust the garden.

Android App

An Android app will be released in the future. The plan is to make it quick to check saved places, switch BBQ modes, and get a simple barbecue answer without opening a full weather app.
