FAQ

Straight answers to the questions people ask before lighting the grill.

Can I BBQ when it has just rained?

Usually wait until patios and paths feel dry and puddles have gone. Recent rain plus forecast rain both feed into the score.

How windy is too windy?

It depends on your garden shelter and grill type. The forecast flags stronger gusts so you can decide whether cooking outside is sensible.

Does pollen matter for a BBQ?

Only if hay fever affects you or your guests. High pollen days can make outdoor eating uncomfortable even when the weather looks fine.

What do the BBQ modes change?

Classic BBQ is the everyday balance. Family BBQ is more cautious about comfort. Big cookout looks harder for the best long window.

Where does the weather data come from?

Forecasts come from Open-Meteo. Place search uses UK postcodes.io for postcodes and OpenStreetMap Nominatim for town and city names.

Is my saved place stored on your servers?

No. Saved home and your last checked place stay in your browser storage on your device.

The score looks good but my garden still feels wet. What wins?

Your garden. If the ground is soggy or rain is still in the air, wait even when the score is optimistic.
